The face behind this blog
Welcome, I am just setting up this page so things will change a lot in the days and weeks to come.
I live and work from a small cottage in Northern Norway. I choose to live as sustainable and close to nature as possible. For almost 20 years I lived in a modern flat in the big city, Oslo, had a regular nine to five job at the office and, well, that changed in the spring of 2024.
My current lifestyle is quite simple, I have an outhouse, no running water, wood-stove and gas for warmth and cooking. Somewhat off-grid, but really close (only minutes) to community and roads (and I do have a car). I also have wi-fi and internet.
The winter in Northern Norway is long, dark and cold. Perfect for working on content creation, starting my own company, studying Mushrooms and Plants, looking at the Stars, the Northern lights and dip into some Astrology.
I have been taking courses, studying and picking mushrooms for years. This summer I started the expert course with the Norwegian association for mycology and foraging. I will take my exam and (hopefully) get my certificate this autumn of 2025. There is about 5000 different mushrooms in Norway. I feel confident with 200 of them, but there is still a handful that I need to know, and I feel uncertain about. Of course we dont need to learn all 5000 of them specifically. I dont think anyone can.
During the summer and autumn Kangoo (my mini-camper-van) and I travel and explore every nook and cranny of Northern Norway including a few visits to the northern parts of Sweden and Finland. I document and catalogue every find. On my memeber pages (only in Norwegian) you can follow me on the road and get exclusive access to mushroom-maps, and a lot more.
